These photographs were taken over a week's time with a 50 year old Argus C3 camera, the most popular camera of the 40's and 50's. I lived in a city that had very little going on in the way of culture, arts, or anything outside of banking and chemicals. I thought to make a series of photos that might make Wilmington, DE look like a more interesting place. I did this by pretending to be a tourist on a family vacation (which is why I used that particular camera). I framed my photos in non-traditional ways and used the cheapest film I could find. I hope to present a timeless version of Wilmington that seems a little bit removed from reality.
